You can make a real difference by noticing, listening, and helping them find the next safe person or resource.

Ask, then stay.

Try: “You haven’t seemed like yourself lately. Want to tell me what’s going on?” Give them time to answer without filling every silence.

Listen without fixing.

You do not need the perfect advice. Reflect what you hear, take their feelings seriously, and ask what kind of support would help right now.

Connect to support.

Offer to sit with them while they contact a trusted adult or support service. If they may be in immediate danger, get an adult involved right away.

You do not have to carry this alone

Bring in another safe person.

It is okay to get help even if your friend asks you to keep everything secret. Their safety matters more than handling it by yourself.
